Mindstorms

Post by Graham »

So does anyone in here program with the original RCX bricks? I got the 1.0 when it was out and apparently you can firmware it to 2.0, as the 1.0 and 2.0 are more/less similar, except for the external power and some software (from what i hear).

Anyways, i am having issues getting it to work with XP and was wondering if others use theirs fine.

I want to incorporate it into my mobile crane to do some automatic items as the NXT is out of the budget at the moment :(

Try to private message TFM (Dean),or Paul Nalgelkirk ,they both have vast rcx experience.Either one should be able to help you out with any problems.

In the course of the night i managed to get the IR working, uploaded the 2.0 firmware, and started programming my crane to throttle up, deploy/retract the outriggers, etc.... will be neat once done. Been years since i have used my RCX box.

Thanx for the suggestion

There is some more recent firmware that NQC supports, but I don't think it's official. Do a search for "swan firmware" on LUGNET.
