Add PF lights to existing 9v?

Post by ILoveLego »

Hi guys,

I have a question for you guys?
All of my existing 9v trains have the old 1x2 light brick (sorry I don't have the part number) attached to the motor, however is there anyway I can convert it using the new PF lights (Set #8870)? Is it even possible :?:

My old light brick is slowly burn out one by one so I would really like to replace them if possible.

Appreciate your help!

Hi,
If you are talking about this piece - http://peeron.com/inv/parts/6035
You can get a adapter cable from Lego shop at home - http://shop.lego.com/en-US/LEGO-Power-F ... ns-ByTheme
that will allow you to connect 9v wired accessories to Power Functions.
It has the metal contacts on one end to make the connection.
They are pretty cheap and very usefull.
hope that helps.

I think he means can he use the new PF 8870 with the old battery packs, which coincidentally is the same question, I'm exploring. I didn't realize the connector that soundwave suggested is that inexpensive. For some reason I thought it was more like $9.

Thanks for the replies guys!

Sorry I'm still a little bit confuse... :?
What I'm trying to achieve is with existing 9v train motor, is it possible to run the new PF lights with the new PF extension wire and attach to the motor?

Sorry I actually forgot to mention from previous reply

Do I need a special brick to hold the new PF light nicely?
I have two (10133) BNSF locomotives that I wanted to use the new PF lights.

Thanks

If you're not 100% purist, you might be interested in this option. Second post in.
