Pirates of the Caribbean.
Pictures are starting to surface, but I they are not very large yet. If anyone finds a link with good pictures post it here please.

Re: Pirates of the Caribbean.
Thanks Brian. I had seen these but they are still small and kind of out of focus.
Re: Pirates of the Caribbean.
Didn't someone speculate that the photos are odd because only one of the sets has the Captain Jack Sparrow that we saw from last year, riding a camel? Captain Jack should probably be in all the sets. Unless he changes outfits a lot, I haven't seen number 2 and 3.

Re: Pirates of the Caribbean.
The jack Sparrow riding a camel was a teaser at a comic-con. I think the Jack sparrow figure will only be in one or two of the sets, most likely the black pearl and one of the smaller sets.

Re: Pirates of the Caribbean.
I predict Jack will be in all or most sets. Just like Dastan from POP. not sure if they will make alternate versions as he looked the same in all 3 movies.
I have more cloned Dastans from POP then i can ever use.

I'll take some Dastans. I like that fig (cept the flesh).

Dastun- Im crazy for his double sword scabbard on the back piece (whatever the proper term is)
I got 1 Desert Attack box.. my 7 year old son loved that piece too.. I havent seen it in a while!!
And while I currently have no excitement for PoC as a theme.. I do wonder how the monster minifigs will turn out.. the Kraken, sea monsters, ghosts, skeletons.. all those stuff I enjoy accumlating for Castle theme

From Brickset:
Pirates of the Caribbean sets were also in there, of course, and the lady on the stand was somewhat surprised to hear that pictures had already been leaked online. The minifigs looked excellent and the 7 or so sets will feature something like 30 different figs. Jack Sparrow appears in them all and in every one he is different meaning that if you're a minifig collector you will need to buy every set...

Re: Pirates of the Caribbean.
Crap! I am going to be broke.

Re: Pirates of the Caribbean.
I am getting FOR SURE the London Escape Set! Love the Brown Horse, and White is a nice change from the black ones lately. Nice figs and great building and accessories. easily my favorite of the bunch, will get at least 2 of this
Captain's Cabin is also a great buy for me, lots great bits there. Probably get 2
I doubt I'll get the big ship as toy ships aren't my thing- but it is a very very attractive one!! Absolutely Love it.
I'd get the Aqua de Vida set too- that way I get the guy with the wild beard, the peg leg, some cool trans blue.. the waterfall panel isnt really desireable though- wish they did something with trans blue there too
The green bog witch in the Mill set is sexy
She's making me lean towards getting the Mill. Whitecap bay is also a nice set but dont know if I'll buy that one.. fleshie mermaids.. really complicating things for me now. maybe I'll just incorporate fleshies later on
Im not sure how i feel about the new panel walls with the stone window thing.. they look different and seem to be only 4 edges, instead of indented like all the ones i have.
No mention of the lighthouse set eh?

Has any one committed to the 10% off pre-purchase of PotC sets at B&N?
Re: Pirates of the Caribbean.
I haven't found the pre-order info on their site, but your post prompted me to find this here: http://smashingbricks.wordpress.com/201 ... nobles-us/beethead wrote:Has any one committed to the 10% off pre-purchase of PotC sets at B&N?
So now we have approx prices.. Capt's Cabin is a nice buy for sure. London Escape could be $50-$60 Canadian? But shipping.. and from the states, brokerage at the border

I think 10% off - shipping is worse compared to 5% VIP rewards from the Bellevue Lego Store

Re: Pirates of the Caribbean.
I bought some stuff from B&N before Christmas and I only had to pay shipping charges. There was no brokerage charge and HST was not collected when my order arrived at the door.RadStar wrote:I haven't found the pre-order info on their site, but your post prompted me to find this here: http://smashingbricks.wordpress.com/201 ... nobles-us/beethead wrote:Has any one committed to the 10% off pre-purchase of PotC sets at B&N?

Re: Pirates of the Caribbean.
New stuff and things I like about these sets. Oh, and don't like.
New stuff;
-hats and hair + hat and hair combos - I count at least 6 and that does not include new colours for the other ones. The shell is a nice touch.
-flesh coloured figs
got to love them.
-weapons and fig gear, a new sword and a very cool sword holder or scabbard with sash I think they are called. And we can't forget the bottles, now we can have drunks on the layouts. I know I know not politically correct. Those inflicted with alcoholism. Better?
-the globe and gold bar, both wins with me. Oh and if you look really close you may even see the bucket with handle. Sweet!
-sails. I like the colour and shapes.
-lets not forget that the folks at Lego have finally given us some mermaid bodies we can use. Yeah!
Builds I like;
-the little table made with skeleton legs
-the lantern on the back of the ship
- the bone cage is not bad
-That about covers builds I like. As side note, I find there are few Lego sets that I do like the way they have put them together as I guess many AFOLs do.
I like the real earthy colours they have been using in the new licensed sets and these set don't disappoint. The brown horse we already know is a winner with a few of you. I am liking the brown cape. I don't think I can have enough of them. I avoided SW sets and missed out.
Things I don't like;
-the skeletal pirate is wearing those terrible boots
-there is only one of Davy Jones' oceanified creature men
-the waterfall sucks. and the ugly piece at the top of the pillars, why I ask why?
-another red snake for crying out load! Darn, make that two red snakes.
Over all I will get most of them for the parts.
I woke up too early this morning and was bored, can you tell?

Re: Pirates of the Caribbean.
Totally agree. These sets have awesome parts. I don't know how I feel about the combined hair/hat pieces though. They are vine for a pirate, but don't really lend themselves to much else.
I like the imperial tricorn hats with the white printing, which have gone unmentioned so far. And of course the Tan tricorn.
They may not have bothered with more oceanifide henchmen cause the Atlantic people do the trick, and keeping out of the PotC series keeps them cheaper and unlicensed.

Re: Pirates of the Caribbean.
Are the hat stuck to the hair? or do they have a stud on top. (A stud would be sweet)Platypus wrote: I don't know how I feel about the combined hair/hat pieces though. They are vine for a pirate, but don't really lend themselves to much else.

I love the use of Skeleton bodies on the back of the ship for the lantern housing.

Yeah, they make a pretty cool accent like that.
What this town needs is more love bricks.
Re: Pirates of the Caribbean.
That almost made me reconsider the severity of my ABS addiction. The elements in these sets... SWEET! And some very nice aspects of the creations.Platypus wrote:I love the use of Skeleton bodies on the back of the ship for the lantern housing.
