Lego Boardgames now available in Canada

Post by Captain Pike »

The local TRU in Coquitlam had copies of some of the Lego Games that have been available in Europe since 2009 and the US since early 2010.
On Display:

Ramses Pyramid - $34.99
Race 3000 - $29.99
Minotaurus - $34.99
Creationary - Don't Remember $45?
Harry Potter Hogwarts - $39.99

I picked up Minotaurus and Hogwarts. I'll let you know how they play.

BTW TRU seems to be marking up the games $10 over the US MSRP. $10!

Did they have the City Exclusive Set? The Transportation Center? TRU USA Website says it's available as well as the TRU Exclusive Truck.

I didn't notice Tim. The regional LEGO jobber was there stocking lots of new product. She did said the collectible minis series 2 would be in stores soon.

So does that mean we're obligated to use a Lego compliant d6 die for future drafts now? rotflol

Jack, so how much were the games, or were they varying prices? ETA: read your post again and I see... +$10 to the US price. Wow! (bad wow)

I was at the Bellevue store this week and picked up Creationary for 32.99 US. I would rather go for the drive, 44.99 CDN seems a bit high...

We've played Minotaurus a couple times now. It's okay and certainly interesting for kids. After the first run through my son wanted to change the board and the rules - which is just the response Lego was looking for. Hogwarts looks a bit more interesting since the board has movable pieces (a bit like the game Labyrinth).

One thing that has me grinding my teeth is the continuous use of the word "dice". None of the Lego games use more than one of the cubes but everywhere they call it a "dice".

Game contains 1 "dice".

Construct the "dice".

Roll the "dice".

Even in a interview with the designer he keeps calling it (singular) a "dice"

Its...not...a..."dice"!

It's a Die.
