Got some LotR Lego! and COUPON ALERT!

Hey guys.. been an age since I posted on here.. life stuff came up along with a job promotion lol. So I sold and gave away all my Star Wars LEGO®.. and sad day, but they are now at a great home with an awesome collector that will love them more than I did.

I am now starting to collect the Lord of the Rings lego! I headed down today for the first time to the Lego Store. Oh my gosh it was wonderful. A friendly lady there named Rachel gave me a quick tour of the store.. and talked about the displays. Awesome employee!

I picked up some Lord of the Rings Lego sets.. they had all of them there.. I bought Battle of Helms Deep, The Orc Forge and the Uruk Battle Force. Gonne pop in the Two Towers and build them tonight!

I did put together some Uruks.. and they are amazing.. awesome detail and their armour has a sheen to it that is pretty cool!

Today was also the start of the Hulk Exclusive Mini-Fig when you spend $50 or more.. so I was able to get 2.

I am also surprised to know something.. while searching the Vancouver Lego store online.. I stumbled across a coupon that is $10 off your purchase if you spend $100 or more. I asked the store about it.. and no one yet has brought one in.. the first they heard of it. Lucky day for me.. I printed one off and brought it in.. sure enough it scans and works. I will have to do a little review of the LotR sets.. so happy to have them in hand.. they seem out early though.. thought it was June 1st.. still happy to have them. Next set on the agenda is the Mines of Moria!

I posted pictures of the new sets available at the Oakridge Lego store including the Monster Fighter line on the VLC Twitter. I bought The Mummy set as I'm a sucker for the female figs and this one has a corsetted torso and this was the cheaper of the two sets to have it. Her hair is the same as the CMF cave woman and a similar face with a scratch/scar. Both the skeletal horse and the mummy are glow in the darks. $15 was a little steep.

I was looking at the Gandalf Arrives for $15.99 but I really wanted it for the horse and didn't realize the "one ring" doesn't come in all sets. In the end I think I'll wait on LotR.

Okay guys so I made a quick vid of the 2/3 sets I opened and put together. I built the Uruk Hai Army builder set.. and the Orc Forge. I wont get into to much detail cause we have all seen the preview videos from the toyfair!

One thing to note is the Uruks in the Orc Forge have the white hand of Saruman stamped on their armour.. the other Uruks in Helms Deep and the Battle Pack.. do not! I like the white hand printing.. makes them more movie like lol. The Light Brick that comes with the forge is awesome and you do get extra weapons!

The new horses are cool! They feel like a lighter plastic though to me. One odd thing is that the horse in the battle pack has of course a saddle.. but you can remove the saddle and stick a brick that matches the horse on it.. so it is basically a saddleless, nekkid horse lol. May be cool if you put it in a stable or something..

I am really loving these sets.. they have such awesome details. The staff at the store were super cool.

Yes totally forgot to mention that the Monster Fighters came out today to! Meant to look at them.. huge werewolf fan.. no not the Jacob kind.. but the cool werewolves that would rather eat Bella than kiss her lol.

Hope more of you get to use the coupon. The store honoured it, and it does scan at the their till. So surprised they have not seen it yet... as it ends at the end of this month.

ended up buying xmen set with magnets and coasters to get hulk figure

They were pretty cool with the Hulks when I went in. I got two as I did two seperate orders.. though I did have a friend with me.. so we were like.. lets just say he is buying those as well lol. If I was on my own I would not have been able to get the two hulks. I gave one away here to a member... and the other I kept for myself. So I am helping out my fellow collectors and VLC members lol!

I hope you guys will be able to use the coupon soon.. and get a hulk.

When I went to the store.. it was during the week.. and it was not busy at all. I was there around 2. At the time they had great stock in of their lego sets.. though I think it was an order day because they had just put out the LotR sets and the Monster Fighters.

I am tempted by the Town hall.. could be cool to light that set up!

I picked up some pab cups on thursday afternoon ,they handed me a hulk and I didnt even ask,thats great,now I'll have to get ALL the heroes to complete the set ,darn.
