"Guildford Mall is official"

I went to the Oakridge Mall store today to go take pictures of Lee's monthly community showcase. And ! It was phenomenal to see his Lord of the Rings rendition of the jewel incrusted Smaug.

But I digress.

I started talking to the store manager and she asked me whether I had heard about the Surrey store. I said, "umm.. no?" And she said, "It's okay, it's official."

So the new Lego Brand Retail Store will be going in at Guildford Mall with the renovations at that mall and open in the summer or fall of this year. I haven't been to Guildford Mall for a long time, but last I recall it could use updating and the addition of a Lego Brand Retail Store there will be greatly visited and appreciated.

So get ready Surrey! Lego is coming your way.

Note: Even though they just announced the new store openings in a press release on Feb 21, 2013, I cannot find the information on Lego's website. I am going by what is being said publicly to customers at the Oakridge LEGO store.

Although, I've been told it's official, please don't cross post this information yet to other sites, should I for some reason need to contain it. I'm not sure why I would need to, as I don't think malls really have grand announcements of store openings, but just in case. Thanks.

My guess is they won't announce it until they can confirm the date. Since the mall construction is out of their control it is probably too soon to have an accurate date . I only make it to guildford a couple times a year (which is soon to increase) but the renos look really good. The Lego store will fit in nice there.
