Does anyone know if you have to pay duty on Lego sets that you order from Barnes & Noble (USA) ?
Let me know if it's hit and miss that the border charges you duty on new items over $20.
Thank you.

So far I have not been hit by duty from B&N. That's not to say that it won't happen, but for many in the RFD Lego thread they've also reported not being charged duty. Plus they have online coupons from time to time which makes it a good deal, even if you have to pay shipping to Canada.

Re: Duty on Shipments from Barnes & Noble
Please don't get duty & tax mixed up.
LEGO is duty free, but it's up to the CBSA agents to charge you 12% HST or not... If it comes through the mail, Canada Post will charge you a $5 handling fee on top of the tax (that is, assuming CBSA makes you pay tax).
I've ordered stuff from Barnes & Noble 3 times, and I didn't get charged tax a single time.

Re: Duty on Shipments from Barnes & Noble
I've received 7 shipments from B&N recently and I wasn't charged HST at the border on any of them. So it seems like a safe bet you won't get dinged.
