LEGO Dacta Storage Bins

Post by dberladyn »

I am still selling my LEGO but I keep freezing on the decision to do so. Currently I still have a lot of LEGO left but I am only interested in selling in steps. I will sell my beloved LEGO Dacta containers if someone wants them. $12 a piece, $15 for the larger green ones. If I was still buying LEGO like I was I would jump on this opportunity.

Dan

They are available for pick up between 4pm and 7pm, Monday through Saturday and all day Sundays. No exceptions, I am located in Port Moody, five minutes away from Andrew.

could you post some better pictures of what they look like inside? are there multiple compartments within and do they stay separated when turned upside down? I am always looking to better improve my lego storage.

Especially curious about your containers in the second pic with the visible divisions within, perhaps Michaels bead containers.

also could you state the approx value of them so I can figure if its worth my time to commute them to the okanagan. I know the small containers for beads usually are around 15 each.

thanks :)

The Red, Green and Yellow Dacta containers don't have seperators, they are just "Official" LEGO tubs. They are not made any longer and they are hard to find. Even if I sell off all my LEGO a part of me still wants these containers. However, I think the reality is I should sell off all my LEGO and these containers.

The clear containers have seperators. They are available at Walmart for $5 a piece. I'm not really interested in selling those off while there is still LEGO sorted inside.

Just a side note, selling off my LEGO is something I find hard to do. I sold over $6000 worth last summer. Now I am basically down to my core Technic collection. Selling that off is something I need to do but I am reluctant because I don't want to, it's very time consuming and Ebay (the fairest way to ensure I get a good dollar) is really expensive.

Thanks for the last post. I dont really need any bulk storage areas, I personally use those walmart/costco plastic towers you can buy for like 40$. I will take your suggestion about the smaller ones and go to walmart and check it out .
I know what you mean about not wanting to sell the collection. I have thought about it because I could use the money but I could never let it go ( or at least my core collection, knights, west, pirates, star wars, vikings). Ive been collecting for the last hmm I guess 24 years now.
I personally am trying out e-bay as we speak on a double set I have kicking around, trying to feel out what type of fees their are and what I end up taking home from the sale. I guess im curious IF I ever decide I have to let it all go. I seriously would sell house and home before that would happen though

Hope you find someone to buy your technic if you so choose to sell it.

good luck

Hey. I need some storage containers REALLY badly. Right now my lego is unsorted due to lac of buns, tubs, etc. And is currently stored in ice cream buckets, big tubes and open on my table. I want to sort it, but really need more tubs. I see that you want cash for these, but if there is ANYTHING you want to trade (non lego or lego), please let me know, and I will try to figure out a way to get you what you want for them.

Use salad bins. They come in 4 sizes and you can get an infinite supply from anyone who eats those pre-washed organic greens. You can also find restaurants that use them and raid their recycling bin before garbage day, or just go and ask for them, depending on how much you like dumpster diving.
While Salad bins are far from perfect, they are free and easy to find anywhere!
