Third Party Shipping Vendors and Lego S@H

Post by beethead »

Have any of you had a negative experiences while ordering from US Lego S&H with parcels being shipped to Parcel 2 Parcel (Point Roberts), Hagens of Blaine, or any other third party shipping vendor? Over at the Redflagdeals forum there is mention of this and I've shared the same problem with a recent attempt at ordering the modular Haunted House to be sent to Hagens. Unfortunately, Lego S&H won't ship to a third party and cancelled my order. The difference between the US and CDN price is $50 on larger sets. While the dollar is at/near parity it only makes sense for me to buy from the US since I'll be in the area anyways.

Anyone else run into this problem or found a way to bypass it? My only solution is to buy directly from the Lego Store in Alderwood Mall.

I have a 3rd party service that has operations in Oregon and CA, they can order the stuff for you to get around the non-US credit card restrictions. However they do charge at least 8% on the order, add that to shipping and I guess we can't come out ahead. Just wish they would open up a location in Whatcom Co. it's called shipito.com
