When set #7189 comes out, we need to do a draft... and then I need to find some way to rig it so I get first pick...

Picked up #4191 Captain's Cabin at Walmart in Burlington today. Love the globe and treasure map. The bottle's are pretty cool too but I was hoping it was a sticker for the boat image so it could be used for other purposes.

Was tempted to get some of the other PoTC sets but I held back the impulse.

No, only went down to Burlington for a grocery shopping trip (Costco, Walmart, Target & KMart). I wanted my International Delight French vanilla coffee cream at Walmart in the 1.89 L cartons but no stock. That stuff costs 2 times as much in BC! Border crossing was only 5 minutes each way today.

Series 5 already? I thought August is the rumoured release date.

Series 5 sightings were an error. Kids saw the 5+ in the corner which refers to age and assumed it was Series 5.

OK, after watching that youtube video I've come to realize how old I actually am. The only person I recognize in that video was Michael Bolton and I know all of the movies he was spoofing characters from but who the f*ck were those 3 other guys?

Two out of three (two without glasses) started out producing comedy sketches in their garrage with a third guy. they called it the lonely island
http://thelonelyisland.com/

That was 12+ years ago and they are still there. about 10 years ago Fox did a pilot called awesome town with them and it never went anywhere, but Sat night live hired all three of them.

this is all roughly from emory. But i certainly remember that they were really funny 10 years ago.

I looked threw the other figs from POTC, but I don't want to pay $7.50 for Jack Sparow, and don't love the fleshie figs, (you've trained me well :P ). But this fig is nice! Looks like a great military/ apoc torso.

If there is anyone who is disappointed by the fact that the gold bar wasn't chrome gold and the gold pieces didn't have single digits on them like on the box, this article might interest you: http://www.fbtb.net/2011/05/20/potc-chr ... ent-parts/

Apparently you can just complain to LEGO and they will sent you the chrome gold bar and gold pieces that match the ones displayed on the box.

Many thanks for the post, I appreciate it. I didn't realize my disappointment until I read this. LEGO's on top of it.

The story, and when I say story here I don't buy it, is that they wanted the gold coins to "pop" on the box so they made them shiny for the picture. They were then going with the "warmer" colour gold to look more real or something. The overall feedback has been very negative on this move and they are now making the move to correct this going forward. Not really sure if that means they will be making the future productions of this set with the shiny or "warmer" colour gold. shake

The girl I spoke to was really pleasant to talk to but clearly was feeding me a line she had been given for this issue. My guess is that they wanted to cut costs and put out a cheaper product. :D
