hi all, need some advice
I’m wanting to put together an event for disabilities (specifically ADHD families, I may branch out with Autism BC as well…this is a whole separate conversation)…I want to also get some sponsorship from local businesses (you’ll see why below) and do something with grants.
The idea I have in my head is to build a Lego city, specifically here in Fleetwood (Fleetwood 2028) but as much as I have this grandiose idea in my head (go ADHD), I’m wondering what the challenges are, things I may need to think about.
Participants can come, build various elements (will set up stations) and build businesses/towers etc…Spend a few hours building Lego with their family.
I’m also slowly roughing out costs.
This is a super rough map of what I have in my head at this moment.

Re: Large Lego City Moc/Event Idea
and just so it's easier to envision, this is the kind of set up I was thinking.
Basically road plates travelling in 1 direction (separated by a barrier) and then plates on either side.

Hello Mark,
An ambitious plan. Looks fun. Safety is always important. Consider how heavy this project will be and plan the tables accordingly. Who will be watching over the LEGO and the kids while it is available to be built with. Do you require liability insurance for such an event? Those are some of the things to consider.

Those are awesome points Allan, thanks for that.
Transporting the materials would also be an additional challenge and the space to move the heavier items or the space to work around the table with multiple people working on things.
On the insurance/liability side - not sure, especially since it'd be a city facility (and the city has their own insurance for patrons) but I know when we did my daughters birthday party at the rec center, we didn't need to purchase any insurance.
