I didn't see a 2017 Lego sets discussion thread yet...

Anyways, I just found out about the Yoda's Starfighter set today! Kind of a cool set. Never thought that there'd still be Clone Wars stuff, and it's really nice to see Clone Wars still getting some love. Imagine all the cool sets we'd be getting if the entire show was completed...

I'm confused about this. Were these sets supposed to launch in 2016? Did they really get pushed back to March or was that the plan all along?

I'm not sure, although I don't think it was supposed to be a 2016 set. I've never seen it before!

It's a 2017 set, but a buncha 2017 Star Wars and Marvel sets aren't coming out until March in North America, compared to late December in Europe/Asia.

There's going to be a Jungle sub-theme of City? Wow. That could be interesting indeed. (Or not.)

I still can't decide if the volcano sub-theme is awesome or meh.

Rumour is that the Jungle theme will include a new animal that has separate male and female molds. I'm really hoping this means it's a lion. What other jungle animals have different enough males and females?

Maybe toucans or one of the apes? But lion seems more likely.

I thought about monkeys and others too, but for most species, the difference (as relates to a LEGO figure) are minimal. Lion makes sense as the male and female are quite different without getting into "non-family-friendly" areas.

I'm hoping for some animals and some ruined temples in the Jungle.

The winter sports theme for friends might convince me to finally getting a friends set. Though I really don't like the mini-dolls.

While we're talking about 2017 sets, do you guys know about the Fun at the Beach set? Basically like 2016's Fun in the Park, but at a beach. Rumoured to be included are: beach volleyball, trees holding up a hammock, a sailboard, canoe, and lifeguards chair. There were rumours about a dolphin being included, but I can't find any confirmation of that.

From other reports I've seen, a/the big set in the jungle theme is some kinda big cliff/cave thing. That report also mentioned that the big cat was yellow with brown spots, so that sounds more like a jaguar. I think he was looking at prelim pics though, so what was a jaguar might change into something else when it's finally released.

I have a hunch there is something lost in translation with this set and it'll be more of a bus stop with a bus than an actual bus station. While I admit it would be pretty cool to see station with multiple bus stops and homeless people sleeping on benches I don't think LEGO would do that.

Yeah, nice set. Best Quai Gon Jin minifig yet.

But the play functionality is a joke (not that AFOL's usually care about play functionality).

Hey any of the stuff I've posted here is just what others were able to speculate on based on leaked images they saw. And it was translated from other languages, so it can't be totally right.

I do wish the cats were lions though. Maybe next year.

With that mold already being a large feline, it shouldn't be too hard to mod it into a lion. Some Brasso to the spotted leopard will make it a female lion.
