And it sucks that the Lego Pick a Brick promotion is running April 10th and 11th (large cup for a small cup price) two days before the soft opening.

Yeah there you go, being all sane and logical and stuff.

I saw the stocked PaB wall today but will check it out more closely when I go back to drop the stuff off shortly.

The PaB wall is literally all basic brick. 1x4 reddish brown tile, 1x1 trans clear round plate and 1x2 transclear plate.

Okay, a few more things of note on the wall,

1x1 orange round plate
1x2 trans-black brick (no centre rod)
2x8 2x6 white brick
2x8 blue brick
2x2 red tile
2x4 med blue brick
1x2 light grey Tile, Modified with Handle

1x4 reddish brown tile
1x1 trans clear round plate
1x2 transclear plate.

They had the Marvel and DC product sets there. I didn't see a Build a Minifig, but that could easily be put in before Friday. Didn't see the Wedding Topper set but saw the Brick built Calendar.

Ninjago Destiny's Bounty suffered casualties. Already a fragile model, it didn't take too well to my lack of cornering skills on a dolly. Needless to say the crew will get a crash course in fixing models.

thanks for the sneek peek Pierre. Sounds like a lot of the same pieces that have been available at Bellevue over the past while. I have started a new thread in the public forum for updates of new and current elements for the PAB wall.

Yes, thanks for the preview! I wish the wall had some flower elements and the stems. So is the soft opening going to be on Thursday or Friday? I want to make it to the store after school or something. :)

EDIT: Never mind. It is on Friday. Can't wait!

I'll be there Friday morning to check out the new store. I'm going to bring in my large PAB cup and refill it and see if they give a discount for re-using a cup.

It appears that they would as I saw a roll of the stickers ready to apply to the PaB cups. However, whether the staff know how to process this on the first day.... may.... be questionable.

Well the job listing is removed so I guess they did. They are still looking for employees, though. When I'm 18 I might get a summer job there. lol :p

I'm confused, so is the store opening this Friday April 13th as posted on the VLC homepage? Because the official Lego site makes no mention of it in it's page for the vancouver store.
Plus someone posted a picture of a Lego events calendar a few pages ago that has in print that the store is opening on May 4-6th http://www.toysnbricks.com/forums/downl ... &mode=view
??? :?

The "Soft" opening is tomorrow, the "Grand" opening is may 4,5,6.

Yes, the post on the VLC homepage mentioned the first week of May, but I agree it wasn't very clear. I have updated it so that the dates stand out more.

I'm sorry you are confused. I thought what I wrote on the front page was understandable. Should I change something to make it read more clearly?

The official Lego site does not list the soft openings for new stores, only the Grand Opening dates. During the soft opening the store test running the staff and facilities and not quite ready for prime time. However, they are open for business as usual.

Oh ic, it would help if the actual dates was next to the days of the grand opening, ie: Friday May 4th
Because the only reference to May opening on the VLC site was in the post of the soft opening, and it doesn't mention the 4th - 6th, I only found that out via that forum post of the events calendar.
Hope that helps

Yup, thanks to you both. I shouldn't have muddied things by combining the soft and the grand opening details and kept them as two separate posts.

I would like to bring up that none of us work for the Lego store and all official details should be checked out with The Lego Group. We are just fans that are very excited about the store opening. :D
