I heard LEGO fired all the original programmers and designers and now it's a total snore.

I was part of the closed BETA. But then by the time it came out I had already played through everything and maxed out my equipment. So there wasn't really any point to buy it. It seemed too short, but I suppose they keep releasing new content, so maybe it is worth it.

The one thing I found annoying was the build mode. While it was pretty awesome to build with, I really wish there was a way to build with random people, or have like a zone of your own in a city created by many other strangers. It would be so cool. But instead you just have your private zone that people can possibly happen to pick from the list of every other private building zone.
