As many of you have likely noticed, for several years, LEGO has been printing Recycling number 4 and 5 on their parts bags. Crinkly bags that tear are #5 and soft bags that stretch are #4, like most grocery bags.
Now the Vancouver Blue Box program specifies that only "rigid" plastics, #1, 2, 4 and 5 can be recycled. Wondering what to do with the soft stuff, I phoned the recycling hotline (604-recycle) and found out that while Vancouver does not take anything soft, Burnaby does take soft Plastic, number 1, 2, 4 and 5, same as hard plastic. So even the the soft LEGO bags are fair game. I didn't ask about other municipalities, but the number if there.
Oh, and do remember that it's all hand sorted, so consider putting all the bags inside the biggest one with a bit of tape, so the sorters don't have to handle each one.
If you are in Vancouver, Pacific Mobile Depots will take soft plastic, but I think they charge for the service.

I never noticed sadly, I was afraid they would just stick to the box or blow away with the truck takes them.
