Okay, on Craigslist, I keep seeing the words, "Collector owned and built once." It's not like a used car lot where they drive a new car around a bit so they can give it a used car discount. I mean, does this guy just buy them. build them, put them on the shelf for a bit, gets a little buyers remorse and then sells them off? Granted he's attempting to sell them at the same price he bought them at, but it seems a rather unusual practice. Why not just sell them new?
Just curious and a little fascinated.

Maybe the person buys multiples,and or runs out of display space then feels they have to sell it off.

"Collector owned and built once" means that the pieces are in like-new condition. If a set had belonged to a kid, chances are the pieces would be in much worse condition.
I also have a number of sets where the model itself is just too cool to be separated out for parts. So I've built those once, had them on display for a bit, then ran out of space, so they were dismantled and returned to the box. If I ever sell those ones, I'll be using "collector owned and built once" to describe them as well.
