A VLC LEGO project at PAX

Hey folks, For those who don't know, PAX is the world's most awesomest video game convention and it's held in Seattle Washington. I was down there and so were the folks behind the Demigod video game that I built the character from. So: http://gallery.neoseeker.com/ThrombosisJones/2084-pax_2009/70788...

LEGO Tribute to 8-bit Videogames

Not the official LEGO company, but a hardcore LEGO builder in Sweden.

Here is what he built: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4qsWFFuY ... r_embedded

Thrift Store Duplo

Hey all, I just came across a bucket 'o Duplo at the Thrift Store (St. Peter's? St. Agnes? :? ) just along Hastings from Commercial & Hastings. Those of you that frequent Value Village in the area might know of it - it's the one just downhill. No idea of the price or anything, but it's a really chea...

LEGO Videogame Mayhem

Hey folks, So... I did something a little funny. I work for NeoSeeker.com doing video-game stuff and, since we recently did some coverage of Stardock's new Demigod RTS (Lydia gave it 10/10 btw) I checked it out and got inspired by the Rook castle-man character. So I built one out of LEGO. http://i.n...

This place definitely needs more flame wars then.

Hang on, I'll go have something to drink and then start something with someone.

LEGO Storage/Sorting Tips?

Heyo folks, Ok, I'm getting my hands on a bunch more bricks so I can do more building and it is good. However, my storage medium to date has always been the classic "Bucket" format. While great fun to dig through, it gets murderously annoying when you have enough LEGO that you could fall into the bu...

Wow,

That's awesome. I love the classic space look, that's what first got me into LEGO - in particular the LL925 set that's parked on the landing pad.

I'm really looking forward to seeing more as you build it.

Cheers,
Adrian

LEGO Uzi

Anybody else seen this yet? http://www.techeblog.com/index.php/tech-gadget/fully-automatic-lego-uzi I understand how the firing mechanism works, but I'm still working out how to load it with the rubber bands. Looks to me like you put them on one at a time, winding the 1 x 8 firing bar around once fo...

I had a good time too and would be happy to host the next meeting. Of course, this is all part of my grand scheme to not have to travel more than five minutes to attend one of these - but I'll bake cookies! :P I'm curious about something though. At the first meeting I attended, Who brought a giant t...

Ok, so...

So, All day today my 3 year-old has been obsessing about LEGO. Building, tearing down and rebuilding all kinds of things. All day. Right through naptime and everything. After dinner I leave him with a sitter to go catch a movie with the wife. When I come I find that he's zonked out in bed, fast asle...

Spybotics?

Hey folks, So, this is a bit of a long shot but I'm curious if anybody knows any way to get ahold of some of the old Spybotics sets. The purple Shadowstriker in particular. I've checked the intertoobes and all I get are $350 price tags on eBay as well as a fistfull of defunct old sites. Blech. :p I'...

I called yesterday and was informed that "the shelves are bare." in the LEGO dept of the Bay. But, the interweb has a cure for all that ails. In this case, free shipping if they ship it to a store, like the one a block from where my wife works. And, since I've already paid for it, they're not going ...

Space Skulls = 1,000 pieces down from $150 to $50

It's available via the LEGO online store as of Dec 28, '08. http://shop.lego.com/Product/?p=10192 The set is pretty crummy and it looks like about 150 of the pieces are tentacle-bits but, you still get 1,000 pieces for $50. The fact that it's heavy on white/black/red and spacey bits is a highlight f...
