First large MOC - Any thoughts?
I'm still working on the small details and gags. But the main room is almost done.
The hardest part was the back side of the room that's on a different stud alignment.
It's roughly 80x60
As it's my first build, i'm wondering if it's good enough to show?

Hey, it's turning out great!

Anything that doesn't look like your 5-yr old built it should be good enough to show.azaksir wrote:As it's my first build, i'm wondering if it's good enough to show?

I like the angles even if it's not a legal connection. Looks great!

ya, it's the only way I could figure out how to connect everything. The walls are all connected, but had to creatively solve the odd angle of the back of the space.chump wrote:I like the angles even if it's not a legal connection. Looks great!

It's definitely good enough to show. It looks awesome!
I don't mind the illegal connections, as its a MOC, and just for you.
Does the floor layout represent a specific place?

ps. If you don't like the illegal connections you could try to replace the bottom level with wedge plates to get a different angle, or you could tile it, etc...

Looks great! Are you adding any figs???
Re: First large MOC - Any thoughts?
Wow, looks great! I love all the off-angles. Makes it a really interesting build to look at.
This is perfect to show! Just need to throw the figs into that great scene.

Don't get me wrong I like the angles too. I don't have issues with the illegal connections, I'm just saying what others being critical will say.

This was an awesome piece to bring! I'm sorry that I didn't make the connection that it was another VLC build! Woot! Way to represent!
I actually studied this MOC pretty carefully and really liked the small details.
If you're looking to expand for next year - you could build the hallway and Penny's apartment. I was also trying to work out in my mind the placement of Sheldon's Room, Leonard's room and the Bathroom. How great would it be to have a teeny-tiny mini-fig sized periodic table shower curtain in the bathroom?
