I support trying to get them for a draft. although the piece count is not as high as the MF the variety is bit better.

I would rather draft the Drop ship then a falcon personally , the MF is ALOT of the same pieces, sure its a great way to load up on those but there are ALOT of wings and stuff like that and I don't know about you guys but I barely ever use most of my wing pieces . Not to mention better colour mix in the DS vs MF . Yeah that would be sweet paul

Wow, how did they get the set in hand so early? My order just shipped sometime on wednesday and even with express, it'll take 6-7 business days.

My guess is that they don't have it yet and would delay response and give an excuse to meet up later in the week. They just want to be first out there before the onslaught of listings that will certainly undercut this price. I don't think this person will respond to my e-mail though.

Maybe he's trying to unload his old stock bought during a BOGO 50% off at TRU before the market's flooded with people selling their Dropships and Millenium Falcons from the Lego S&H bungle.

I got mine today. Each of my 2 falcons and 1 dropship were shipped separately, I guess cause the falcons are heavy enough that each one had a "Warning, Heavy" sticker on it! So much LEGO! :D

How many of you didn't have a UCS Falcon before this sale?

I purchased one for US$500 through Bellevue a while ago, so to be honest, the one I got from this S@H sale will be used to help offset the overall costs of ownership. :)

I didn't own one and would never have bought one for $700 CAD. But for $170 - sure.

I also didn't have one, and would not have bough it, were it not for the sale. Pascal took one of mine to build, and I may keep it around if it looks cool, but it's likely a parts pack. The second I bough with the intention to keep it in the box for a few years, and then sell it to pay for both, or turn it into a part pack if life is still allowing me to spend money on LEGO.

Hi gang... I just finished building the republic dropship... took me 4 hrs 25 minutes. Some of the parts are great!

Just opened the Falcon.... nearly fainted... the instructions are HUGE!!! None of the bags are numbered. This is going to be the hunt from hell. Just for giggles, I'm going to time myself.

Thanks Platypus for the mind numbing terror that you have allowed me to do to myself. I haven't even started and I already have the shakes...

What did you say in that other thread about the 10179 speed build? I seem to recall you saying "pffft" to 2hrs and 37 minutes, and that you could beat that time with one hand tied behind your back AND blindfolded?

Hopefully you didn't also let your son down a six pack of redbull so he could stay up all night with you...

Anyway, we should think about having a team speed build at our next meeting with a few of thes Falcons. Or is that crazy talk?

I would rather spend that time sorting for a huge draft should our bounty arrive in time.
wish i had thought of letting someone else build my falcon too.
I opened mine and was also shocked at how large the instructions were. I wieghed them just to see how heavy they were. 3 pounds! wow I dont think I would attempt to build this without sorting it first but then I probaly wouldnt want to if it was sorted. :?

Is it the biggest set ever? was there another UCS bigger? Surely the Death Star and Star Destrooyer were both smaller.

When the UCS Falcon was released, it was the largest official set at the time. But the Taj Mahal was released later, and it's currently the largest (by piece count).
