City 2018 rumours

Post by Lettuce »

I've been reading up some rumours for 2018 City sets. Apparently we can expect mountain and mining themes.

60170 Off-Road Pursuit, gangster and police bike, 2 minifigs
60171 Pursuit Through the Mountains, 4 minifigs, like a starter pack, and a new piece looking like a bee yard (bee hive?)
60172 Pursuit on the Road, one bike (bicycle or motorcycle?), one gangster car, one police car, and a small rock
60173 Mountain Hideaway, big police helicopter, mountain with gangsters hut, gangsters buggy, 4 minifigs, one bear (Grizzly bear?)
60176 Pursuit on the River, 2 boats, one small red one, one police boat
60174 Headquarters of Mountain Police, with headquarters building, 2 helicopters (1 gangster, 1 police), bike (bicycle or motorcycle?), car, 6 minifigs, one "mountain cat"(moutain lion/cougar), one gangster disguised like a tree (presumably a tree costume)

60184 Mining Team, 4 minifigs, starter pack
60185 Mining Power Splitter, like a excavator with a drill in front, a small rock to drill, one minifig
60186 Mining Heavy Driller, with "heavy driller", small truck, rock, a small station, 3 minifigs
60187 mining Experts Site, with gold mine, rock, 6 minifigs, a small version of the bucket wheel excavator

Highlights to me look like a bee hive, new bear, new big cat, and tree costume.

Added in 1 minute 13 seconds:
The bear is apparently the same mold as the grizzly and polar bear from from a few years ago. Not sure what colour this one will be.

Lol ya pretty much.
These themes see like a repeat of a few years ago.
Why not do a safari theme?
Or instead of bears why cant they do ungulates?

I just want ungulates!

Me too. Let's get some damn herbivores for the LEGO wilderness. I want a handful of moose and like a couple dozen deer please.

I think the takeaway here is beehives.

I had to look up what ungulates were, the BC school system had failed my education. I did not know that the distinction would be even number of toes vs. odd number of toes. Then again even reading the Wikipedia entry, I'm still unclear what an ungulate is.

Yes. You'd better believe I'm grabbing at least one of every new animal that comes out from here on. I can't believe goats slipped past me during the years I wasn't keeping a close eye on what Lego was doing. They're the only animal that matters and now they're like $25 per piece on Bricklink.
