New themes for 2017

Post by Lettuce »

Does anyone else read Hoth Bricks?

They just posted a story about new themes for next year, which include the return of Pirates of the Caribbean (for the 5th film), Cars, and Power Rangers. Apparently there will be at least 4 Pirates of the Caribbean sets, 6 Cars sets, and "some" Power Rangers sets (the highest quality reporting there).

Also, the new collectible minifigs, either series 17 or a LEGO Batman Movie series (which would be awesome), will be in purple packages.

But really, LEGO Power Rangers are gonna be a thing now.

power rangers seems strange to me. It seems like an Ip that mega blocks would go after, not lego.

I think it seems that way, because there were Power Rangers Mega Bloks.

It seems LEGO managed to steal a licence from Mega Bloks

I maybe that makes up for losing the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles license.

Well, apparently it was just a hoax. https://twitter.com/hothbricks/status/7 ... 6458849280
No new Pirates of the Caribbean, no Power Rangers LEGO.

I would have thought it would have been in conjunction with the new Power Rangers movie that is coming out.

I don't really get why PoTC isn't real, LEGO already has the IP for it and has made sets before. Power Rangers sets never made sets from the get go, so that being faked makes sense.

I agree, and I'll remain hopeful (but not impatient) that they do re-license PotC.
