I own a bit of Lego. A little obsessive by some peoples standards.

only 2 feet tall? psssh! I'd much rather have Weckstrom Tower anyday.
Maybe if I watch the movie I will appreciate it.

Nit Pick - Designer says, "One of the Two Towers of Middle Earth" - but it's not. The Two Towers are Minas Tirith and Minas Morgul.

That’s debatable Captain Pike... JRR Tolkien has written letters to friends, colleagues, publishers, etc… denoting many options for the two towers;
Orthanc and Barad-dûr,
Minas Tirith and/or Barad-dûr, and/or Orthanc and/or Tower of Cirith Ungol.
Also, he drew a cover illustration which identified the pair as Minas Morgul and Orthanc. All make a good case. The novel - two towers started out as the Treason of Isengard – which includes the tower of Orthanc. You will find many meanings within Tolkiens’ works… even his good friend C S Lewis had difficulty getting a straight answer out of him on many subjects. Anyway, I’m definitely not the authority on Tolkien literary and artistic works – I guess your both right.
I read all his books at age 11 and haven’t put them down since. Thanks to Peter Jackson’s movie magic…I find myself drawn back in to – “my precious” :wink:
This is my favorite licenced product that Lego has to date. I’ll just keep spending $$$ , I'm hooked! :lol:

That would make four Towers if you count them all....

I can't wait to see the Tower of Orthanc on Lego main street between the Firehouse and City Hall!

Yes, four towers are better than two, right. I would like to see the Lego group design more of the towers since Peter Jackson makes reference to them in the Hobbit movies.

Haha, Orthanc on main street is amusing...I could see Sauraman looking down from the tower with envy. I think the haunted house works nicely on main street.

Overall, I’m quite happy with the set. Although, I wish they did more with Gwaihir the great eagle – it doesn’t look so great. And Tree beard needs some work. I guess between details and price point the Lego design team had to compromise before bringing it to market. Oh well, it’s a start…

Impressive set but not a fan of the sheer Black-ness of it..

I like the Treeman most, hope it comes out in a smaller set.
