What is the right track for 9V train?

Post by cvc1968 »

I recently bought train set 4559 and want to add to the track.
Will this track work?
Dark Bluish Gray Train, Track Plastic (RC Trains) Straight
(http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=53401)
or does it have to be Train Track 9V Straight
(http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=2865)

There is a major price difference between the two!
Anyone with extra track for sale/trade??

if you want to drive it around it has to be the 9v one ( metal rails ), cause that train gets the power through the rails . the RC train can go on either though since its got batteries in and doesn't get it power through the rails .

Some people have put "plumbers tape"on the RC track,it come sin copper or aluminum in quarter inch wide rolls and might need some additional glue to hold it down.If you look at lugnet and search rc track modify you should find some examples.eitherwise you can still find some not bad deals on ebay.
