Series 3 Photos have been leaked . . .

Post by MisterOwl »

They are incredible! In my opinion, the ELF is the best. If the ears are part of the hairpiece, it will be even better. The SAMURAI is up there and the CHIEF looks pretty good as well. I can see the army builders going mass ELF or SAMURAI :-) That being said, the TENNIS PLAYER and MUMMY have nice looking prints too. I did not include links to photos as I do not know VLC's policy regarding this type of information - they are easy enough to find if you want to look for them online.

I first spotted the link on the Toysnbricks site, but they have now removed it. I just did a google and found the following. Not sure how long it will stay up, but give it a try.

I would think they will follow the same 3/4/5 configuration, since they have already invested in that production-line process. The interesting question will be which figures are 3/4/5 respectively!

WOW, they are all super cool! I love the mummy and the elf. Really cool that they made the tennis player and baseball player too. Really cool to have new sports equipment. And the evil spaceman with a peg leg is really funny. Plus the beard on the fisher is cool and the samurai has all dark-red clothes under his amour, which is really cool.

Another Indian? eughh.. They should have at least tried to represent another Indigenous Group Inuit would have been nice. Also what's with the Sumo guy? He just looks like a dork in a speedo.

Not really feeling it with this series. Maybe when there's clearer pictures. The tennis player, the mummy and elf, maybe the gorilla. The other ones, not so much. Of course, gotta get em' all, but not so much needing duplicates.

Hopefully, these will be more widely available in Canada. I recently went down to Bellevue with the wifey to do some shopping, and Series 2 was everywhere (or at least, "was" everywhere - they are still flying off the shelves it seems): Target, TRU, Fred Meyer, Lego Store, etc. I did not check Borders and Walmart did not have anything yet.

Some more civilian type figs would be great in future series: waitress, peasant farmer, night-on-the-town (guy or girl fig).

The next round will be interesting w/o the bar codes! I am not looking forward to long line-ups of adults grabbing and feeling these little bags trying to figure out whether they have an ELF or a GORILLA . . .

I think for series 3 I'm gonna let someone else do the feeling and order on eBay. Like lots of people said their isn't much they want in the way of doubles. Instead of Collectible they should just call them "Impossible to get without constantly harrassing TRU or Walmart associates over the phone and in person, being super lucky, or otherwise paying asswipe resllers twice what they paid". Without a wider distribution like in Europe, we're bound for the same fighting and super hype over them.

We should really just get together and buy a bunch of cases from Korea or something. If Western Canada got screwed on supply, it would make sense for us to just import a bunch as a group. We could figure out how many full sets we need, then divide that by 3 to be the number of cases, and then draft all the extras so people get extras they like.

That is a great idea David.

I'd be in for a box of series 3 from Korea. That way the price is really good and you don't have to waste your time going around to all the stores to find that someone has taken the figs that you want already.

Though I have to admit series 3 isn't looking all that great.

Do you mean the LEGO Shop at Home? When I was down at Bellevue, the LEGO store did not have any in stock haha.

One of the clerks told me they had over 1,000 minifigures and sold those out in about 2 hours!

But yes, LEGO Shop at Home definitely seems to have a much greater supply than for Series 1.

No, the store in Bellevue. was there yesterday. They had a full bin with hundreds of figs plus a few unopened cases behind the counter.

Ok, that makes sense. I was down on Friday, and the guy told me they were expecting more stock "soon". It's too bad I am not close enough to the border to consider making forays into the USofA on a regular basis haha! Driving around wasting gas/money/time looking for minifigs has now replaced Starcraft II as my ultimate time-waster :-)

Interesting. I can see a whole new round of Post Apoc. Mocs based on Planet of the Apes!

The Elf will the Spartan of series 3. Everybody will want them in quantity and he'll be impossible to find.
