Looks like they are trying to beat us to the punch on the Ancient Worlds idea. They have a Roman soldier and a Pharaoh. We need to pick up the pace on this. Once they sets hit the stores, everyone will be building ancient civs stuff.

I'm kind of digging series 2 more than I am series 1. By that I mean, I'm more likely to get multiples of ones in series 2 than 1. Maybe I'm not stretch my imagination but how many magicians does one really need? Yeah, ninjas and forestmen can be bought in multiples but I've got ninjas and forestmen already.

Whereas in series 2, I think there are at least 4 or 5 where I'd like to get at least two. I've got Pharoah's but not like this one, the Roman Centurion, the Pamela Anderson, surfer dude, the Three Amigos!

Hopefully they slow this down to one series a year, otherwise, I'll be broke.

I use to bug my nephew and niece about buying those plastic bubble Pokemon out of the vending machines, but this ain't that much better, except I know which one I'm getting.

The Ancient guy looks more like a Greek Hoplite that a Roman to me.
Either way it's a fun bunch of minis for creative MOC builders.

Ya, I agree he is Greek. Not sure how I will ever get enough of the, but maybe I can put round shields on my romans to look more Greek and then do a battle of marathon or something like that. I can just picture a huge layout, being a few old Greek City-states with battles raging between them, and then across the ocean the Pyramid on one side and a great Persian castle on another.
Mediterranean layout for 2011!

Enjoy while you can the barcodes as Series 3 will not have distinguishing barcodes. So weights or blind feel. Without barcodes it's also speculated that whole boxes may not have even distributions. source: brickset.

So here's info off of Eurobricks about series 3 and 4

http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.p ... ntry788687

Minifigure Series 3:
-fisher with hinge and fish
-Ferrari driver (red torso) with helmet
-mummy with pan
-? sumo wrestler/karate guy (yellow torso and pants) with trophy
-? female dancer
-samurai knight with removeable armor and samurai sword
-Hawaii girl (green skirt print) with two green rattles
-baseball player with baseball bat
-elf with bow and big buckler
-Native American chief with lance
-alien with space gun
-? male singer with ? micro and ? recorder
-? doctor/surgeon with suitcase and ?
-gorilla with banana
-snowboarder with snowboard
-???

Sorry for that I don't remember the one remaining minfig.

Let's discuss! :classic:

Btw:
1. Series 3 will already be released in January 2011.
2. There will be a series 4, too, but there were unluckily no pics of it in the retailer's catalogue.
3. Series 4 will be released in April 2011.

It was supposed to be similar production run quantities but there seems to be a heckuva lot more series two distributors and stock than series one. If they did move quantities from the European market to North America because of the greater demand then it would have the European barcode. Something doesn't add up.

Production of the figs could have been the same but packaging production may have been changed. :D

Good points. I seem to recall that both production runs had been completed though, before Series 1 had even been released. If they did indeed do a last minute packaging change, how much Series 1 sales data did they actually have when they made that call.

I just hope they don't release Series 3 until January. I do not want to spend my X-Mas holidays running around looking for Green Boxes :-)

We're planning to order a bunch or boxes from Europe as a club. If they do come out in Janurary that'll be pretty sad, because I remember it took stores ages to recover from Christmas, so literally there will be two green boxes on the LEGO shelf with nothing much else :P. Heck if they do get them in Europe early we might even get ours sooner than N.A.!
