Cindy, a friend of a friend, is a student teacher who will be teaching a science unit to a 6th grade class at Lonsdale School
from April 12 to June 18. She once volunteered with a gifted kids
program where they worked with Mindstorms, and she'd like to
incorporate Lego into her upcoming science unit, which is on
"forces and simple machines."
I'm posting this (in a public forum so she can read and post) to
introduce her and ask if anyone would be interested in
participating. One difficulty is that she doesn't have any
materials or budget. I've explained to her that I'm not willing to
loan my personal Lego stash to a classroom of 11-year-olds.
I'm probably not alone in feeling this way. (^:
If anyone has ideas for her she'll be glad to hear them.
Cindy: feel free to post a follow-up with more details, your contact
info (if you wish - this is a public site - or I can pass on your email
to any VLC member who requests it), etc. Check back here for
follow-ups from VLC people.

Re: Lego in grade 6 science class
It's very cool that she volunteered for gifted children. It seems to me that this is very important for today. I think she can still be helped here https://paperleaf.ca/write-edit-essays/, I really hope so. You are great fellows, and I want to wish you success!
