LEGO's 5th largest (piece count) set coming: Disney Cinderella's Castle

Post by Kyler »

In the unlikely event that LEGO hasn't already drained everyone's bank accounts, here comes another amazing new (and large) set that will have you wishing you had more spending money.

It's the Disney Castle wow and for the piece count, I'd say they did a remarkably good job of representing the big one at Disneyland.

The outer towers look really nice, but the inside feels like its lacking a bit... maybe that's what Disney CMF is for? :P

According to BrickLink's inventory, it would seem so. (No sets listed containing the "Brick, Modified 1 x 2 with Masonry Profile (Brick Profile)" in Tan - yet.)

Looks pretty darn good... despite the price tag, the rabid Disney fans will scoop up this set.

Side note: I feel bad for LEGO; I think they were forced to reveal this set once images were leaked.

I liked it. Till I saw the whole front wall of grey brick is just paneling with stickers. Pretty lazy and lame. The turrets on the real castle are round. Not hexagonal like they made it.

They had to keep the piece count down somehow.
'Course if they hadn't, this would have likely become this decade's Millennium Falcon (UCS) - possibly even the largest LEGO set ever.

'Gotta leave something for the AFOLs to improve via MOC.

That's brilliant! Instead of building people's IKEA furniture for them, a business could be started where someone comes and build your Lego sets for you!

I now know what I want to be if I grow up!

Thanks, I do truly enjoy the process of building more than the final product. Don't get me wrong I do enjoy the end result. I'll admit, embarrassingly that I will sit and watch tv and just put bricks together without looking. I just like the feeling of it. (weird, I know) I even caught my self driving once after returning from the wall of brick at the LEGO store reaching over and putting pieces together that were sill in the bag...Yup I gota problem!

The sound of Lego moving around drives my wife nuts when she is watching TV.

That's too bad (if you wanted to watch with her) but still doesn't decrease the likelihood of Lettuce being right as she's not the builder. ;-)

I was at Guildford in the afternoon. They said they had 13 of the set and a line of people waiting when they opened. The sold out immediately. Reddit tells me that Oakridge had 20.

I wasn't in there looking for one, it's my next target for my VIP points. I'm just over halfway there...
