Re: Classic TV Series Batcave - clearance deal

So Walmart seems to still have these in stock for $228. It's even decent for price for parts.

Star Wars Sets on Sale at amazon.ca

So, I'm not sure if these sets are very popular with people, but I thought they were worth picking up at these prices. There are other sales on at Amazon, but these were more than 30% off. 75180 Star Wars Rathtar Escape (CDN$ 58.25): https://www.amazon.ca/LEGO-Star-Rathtar-Escape-75180/dp/B06XRDP31J...

Re: Non-LEGO bits in MOCs?

I used pennies for weight in my drawbridge. I would consider that acceptable for function. The ballasts would cost a fair bit more, and would be more difficult to get a hold of in quantity.

Re: Figs/Sets for sale/trade

Those wheels can be kind of useful, if you want to turn them into a turntable or something. Those wheels alone are still going for more than $35 a piece.

This seems to be getting a lot of buzz.

I've already had 5 posts on Facebook of friends referencing me to this. Sometimes I wish my friends didn't know I was an AFOL.

Re: New to the forum?

I don't know if I would recommend LDD for just playing around. I'm the type of guy who likes to actually play around with real bricks. I think it's more fun that way, but if you do not have the pieces give it a try. There are all sorts though. LDD does allow you to do a piece count if you plan on do...

You should also note that cucumbers are not the only thing that can be pickled. ie. onions, beets, peppers, etc.

Congrats Paul. Way to represent the hobby (obsession).

Re: New to the forum?

IvoryW26 Welcome to the forum. I've actually got another friend up in Kamloops who is a train and Lego enthusiast as well. If you like, send me a PM and I could get you guys in contact. I would still encourage you to come down for the yearly train show, if you can, to hang out and talk with the guys...

Re: For the technic Geeks.

Has anyone else noticed that the price for the BWE coming out Germany and the Netherlands on Bricklink is nearly $100 cheaper than in stores here? I know I've talked to Paul a little bit about shipping out of Germany, but what are your thoughts? Ihttps://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page...

I bought that set back in the day just for those wheels. I guess I'm not the only one now who sees the advantages of those parts.

I found two of these years ago at toys r us for my drawbridge. Have you tried there?

Added in 58 seconds:
Wait. Those are the larger 48x48 baseplates, aren't they. Never mind.

I think I prefer the old lights and sound system. I think they stopped producing it since it is very expensive and they have switched entirely over to Power Functions.

76041-1: The Hydra Fortress Smash 2 on 'Clearance' at TRU

So, I was just in Toys R Us in Coquitlam this evening and found a bunch of the Hydra Force Smash (http://brickset.com/sets/76041-1/The-Hydra-Fortress-Smash) for sale as 'Clearance'. The price for piece count isn't too bad and it's one way to get the Hulk. It looks like it is on sale on-line as well:...

Re: 2016 sets from Nuremberg

I'm in full agreement here. I just need the time and the money to make it happen. I am familiar with the technology and some manufacturers if anyone is feeling ambitious. At the train show this year, we were discussing some potential material handling layout options that could work well for display....
