Re: Non-LEGO bits in MOCs?

I try not to be too harsh on any builder's choices (try to keep an open mind), but certainly prefer LEGO parts (and appreciate their use, whenever they exist).

Re: Non-LEGO bits in MOCs?

I think everyone has a threshold for non-lego elements beyond which they start to turn a dim eye toward the MOC (even if they're too polite to say so) and I think everyone's threshold will be slightly different. Almost no one seems to have a problem with lighting. Few people would have an issue wit...

New to the forum?

Hello everyone, but especially to those of you who are relatively new to the forums (who most of us don't know yet). My name is Kyler and (while I'm not new to the forums) I am new to the role of Membership Director. As such, I'd like to remind all the newer folks that this thread is an ideal place ...

Re: Non-LEGO bits in MOCs?

What level of "okay" are you going for?
I've seen a MOC made entirely out of Megablocks at a con before.
(That being said, it had it's share of closet haters, and would likely never be considered a candidate for a prize.)
I tend to try and not be judgemental. Dave's answer is probably the shortest.

Yup, for anyone with kids ages 4 - 12, those kids can help build the city of tomorrow this weekend, at any Canadian TRU.

I'd like the red cheerleader fig please. And the ballerina, scientist, and Leia.

(I'd also take Chirrut, but ONLY if Keith changes his mind).

LEGO Display for a Playground Fundraiser

Two of our members recently displayed a whole lot of LEGO in Hope for a playground fundraiser event.
Needless to say, it made the local paper.

Woah. Especially the green kicker.
GBC looks so easy but so many fine details required to keep balls on track.
This makes me want to crack open that set.

North Van:
Didn't find any at Marine Drive location
Grabbed some Unikitty, Emmet, and Gimley ones from Main Street location.
I probably have a couple Unikittys to spare.
That's all that was left too (although I didn't ask about stock in back)

Re: Dimensions at Dollarama

Probably the oldest waves (i.e. the ones most people already have) but considering the MSRP for Dimensions sets start at $14.99 that's still a great deal - either for someone wanting to get into Dimensions, or for people who just want them for the figs.
