Re: How much of a LEGO purist are you?
I don't recall purposely spending money on Moogablooks before but I did literally get a suitcase full of them at Comiccon one year for free. I've not used them to build anything. I lend out those bricks to friends who are not afols who ask to borrow some "Lego" for whatever reason. I've never...

Re: How much of a LEGO purist are you?
So far I've only hit 10 (by using 3rd party lights) but I have parts for future use that would bump me up to 15 and 23 (parts from BrickForge & MegaBloks respectively). I think the whole chart should be titled "How much of a LEGO purist are you?" because some of the most well known master builders h...

There's going to be a Jungle sub-theme of City? Wow. That could be interesting indeed. (Or not.)Hamslice wrote:Cant wait to see what city sub theme "jungle" brings us.
I still can't decide if the volcano sub-theme is awesome or meh.

Re: TBB Interview with Paul
You should also note that cucumbers are not the only thing that can be pickled. ie. onions, beets, peppers, etc. Indeed! Pickled ginger; pickled cabbage; pickled herring, pickled ______ (anything)! but (whether or not they're the original) the food item that gets the name pickles, are indeed cucumb...

You can't be the last person to learn that, and to be fair, they're not from the big English cucumbers that people most often buy (to eat un-pickled) in grocery stores.

It may not be as complex (or fit minifigs/minidolls) but LEGO has apparently made an even smaller Beetle now.

Re: Lego Oakridge Pick A Brick wall updates
I'm going to New York in 3 weeks time. I'll have to go check out the pick a brick wall there! FYI, prices at the Rockefeller Center and Flatiron locations are above MSRP. I'm not sure if the store in Queens Centre would have the exclusive build-a-model, but if you have time I'd suggest checking it ...

Re: Holiday Display @ La Fontana Cafe
We should start a thread of Lego found in places you wouldn't expect it. Maybe someone with the power to do so can simply rename this thread to "LEGO Display Sightings" ? A couple windows in the main East-West corridor at the West Vancouver Recreation Centre tend to always have some built LEGO sets...

Something to for others keep in mind...
...If anyone else is wanting some black nets, I just placed an order on Bricklink for Lettuce and I, and should have enough left for someone else if anyone wants to share our BL shipping costs instead of incurring their own.

Re: No Starch Press LEGO eBooks for a bargain (a donation to charity)
Some of them are lovely coffee table books (like Beautiful LEGO) which indeed make more sense (and view better) as physical print books. But for those that provide an instructional aspect, it's probably easier for some to reference their laptop or iPad screen while building than to figure out a way ...

I heard about this fantastic deal from Robin S. but apparently the word's getting out (Brickset has now blogged about it).
