Re: Ninjago City announcement

Wow. 4867 pcs for only 300. 6 cents a brick. The black terracotta roof looks great, and using black car doors for roofing to is awesome. Nice find Degobbi. Given our current exchange rate I'm loving the LEGO exchange rate - $349.99 CAD for this set (no need for a cross-border shopping trip for this...

Re: 3rd Party Exclusives (i.e. TRU Exclusives)

This is great news. I know, right? I haven't seen this reported anywhere else yet, but this seems like the kind of information that the retail employees would have reliably. As for reliability, I can't imagine they would be misinformed, so it's got to be at least partially true. I was asking about ...

3rd Party Exclusives (i.e. TRU Exclusives)

Have you ever found yourself at the LEGO Store, not seeing stock on the shelf, asking if they have any of set X in stock only to be told set X is a ToysRUs exclusive (only available at TRU or shop.lego.com), or a Walmart exclusive, etc.? Well, if that's ever bothered you (as it occasionally has me) ...

When I was a kid I only had primary colours (plus black & grey).

Re: New to the forum?

Yes, welcome! (I finally got you on the forums. ) Welcome Carlos! It's expensive enough being a LEGO addict yourself, you have to turn your kids into them too? Or is this some nefarious double down scheme to be able to claim all that LEGO back when they go through their dark ages? :) I think C...

Just a note, I know this guy and he's a good guy. A true Lego fan, but I guess he's simplifying. Aww thanks man. I probably know a few guys here as it is. It's Rio from Oakridge. I'm still holding onto all my opened stuff, though, I'll never be done with this addiction... Welcome R! It's about damn...

Re: Non-LEGO bits in MOCs?

I try not to be too harsh on any builder's choices (try to keep an open mind), but certainly prefer LEGO parts (and appreciate their use, whenever they exist).

Re: Non-LEGO bits in MOCs?

I think everyone has a threshold for non-lego elements beyond which they start to turn a dim eye toward the MOC (even if they're too polite to say so) and I think everyone's threshold will be slightly different. Almost no one seems to have a problem with lighting. Few people would have an issue wit...

Re: Non-LEGO bits in MOCs?

What level of "okay" are you going for? I've seen a MOC made entirely out of Megablocks at a con before. (That being said, it had it's share of closet haters, and would likely never be considered a candidate for a prize.) I tend to try and not be judgemental. Dave's answer is probably the ...

LEGO Display for a Playground Fundraiser

Two of our members recently displayed a whole lot of LEGO in Hope for a playground fundraiser event.
Needless to say, it made the local paper.
