Re: Museum of Surrey LEGO® Contest for Show and Share Display

Sounds fun. My wife will pass on the information to her class. Is there no height limit?

Re: Buildings + Misc. MILs

Thanks for the kind words! It’s more work, but to keep things interesting, I try to make the buildings asymmetrical (all but the tan one). The corner buildings also have a different design for both sides. Here are a few smaller details I’m fond of. And of course, huge thanks to the VLC, I wouldn’t h...

Buildings + Misc. MILs

They weren’t really meant to all go together, but here is an overview of builds I can contribute to a trains/MILs layout.

The big line for the ice cream truck was inspired by the heat.

Olde Yellow Castle Park

My idea for a BrickCan build was this: “Combine one of my first ever sets with one of my most recent”. I remember the Christmas excitement when I received The Yellow Castle (375), it was my first non-“Basic Building” set. This Christmas I was lucky enough to receive ‘People Pack - Outdoor Adventures...

Agreed with Shane, great job... and I really hope you and Lettuce get on the show. You guys would make fantastic contestants.

If you do make it, maybe Degobbi will have to fly down to make an equally impressive photobomb on the show.

Re: Matt's GBC module thread.

I love the studs out building. Just for cosmetics (adding to the old west theme), could you have an axle go through the wall and have it turn a water wheel on the outside?

Canuck's Troy Stetcher

Maybe someone should send Troy Stetcher an invite to a VLC meeting :) Q: When you’re not doing hockey, what are you doing? Playing Lego. It’s my hobby away from the rink, aside from Phoebe (his dog, a Bernese mountain dog). I don’t know what it is, but I love building. You’re so caught up in that mo...

Hey Matt,

Are all those GBC modules on your YouTube channel yours? Their fantastic!

The brick separator one was one of my favorites at BrickCan.

What part of Vancouver are you in?

Cheers,

Re: New to the forum?

Welcome Derek,

That display is impressive. Is the rocket held down at all? I'd be worried using those light switches in the morning (pre-coffee) or after coming home from the pub :) .

Re: Brickcan build needs

My technic sorting is a total disaster... I took a quick look this morning and found 3, I'm pretty sure there must be another one in there somewhere so I'll bring them if I can make it on Friday.

I haven't used it, but there's also:

But I can't see how making a digital version of a physical model would speed up the bricklink ordering process.

That guy needs a better storage and sorting system. (At least the glass is see through so you can get an idea of where the parts are.)

Re: Automated sorting

I should have added more to the original post. While that technic pin sorter is pretty neat (if you dig through the links you can see this guy also built a proto-type purely out of lego) what makes this one so different is he's using a neural network to train his software to identify every lego elem...

Love the scenes near the end, the helicopter, pool hall, etc. The overall city shots are great.
